This past November, Little Pickle Press was very excited to hear that one of our award-winning authors, and international neuroplasticity expert, JoAnn Deak, Ph.D., was going to be the keynote speaker at the 92|Y Wonderplay Early Childhood Learning Conference.
This year was the fifth year that the 92|Y Wonderplay Early Childhood Learning Conference took place, bringing together early childhood professionals and international leaders in education and child & family development. The goal of the conference was to teach about the development about a child’s brain in the first five years of life, and why this specific stage plays such crucial role in lifetime development.
It is no wonder that Dr. Deak was selected to speak on the topic. Dr. Deak has spent significant time traveling and working with adults and parents to help understand what they can do to optimize their role as “neurosculptors”. Few can take as complex a subject as neurology, and break it down in terms that we can understand and apply to our everyday lives. This skill is what makes Dr. Deak and her book, Your Fantastic Elastic Brain, so exceptional. If you couldn’t attend November’s Wonderplay conference, but have an interest in learning what you can to do become a better neurosculptor, you can watch Dr. Deak’s presentation here.
If you would like to have Dr. JoAnn Deak give a presentation at your school or organization, please contact The DEAK Group.

I am going to hear Dr.Deak speak this evening in San Francisco and am very excited to learn some new things from her infinite wisdom!
ReplyDeleteI've had the privilege of attending several of Dr. Deak's lectures about the latest brain and gender research and how it informs how we teach and parent. She is engaging, inspiring, witty, and informative. If ever you have the opportunity to hear her speak, I highly recommend you do so. Thanks for the post, Cameron. ~ Rana
ReplyDeleteRecently I heard Dr. JoAnn Deak speak in Los Angeles. Dr. Deak is a master at engaging her audience. Dr. Deak's content informs children, educators and parents about the development of the brain, she empowers all three audiences by sharing how they can impact brain development. What stuck me was her passion for children. Dr. Deak is a true child advocate.
