I Have A Dream by Martin Luther King, Jr.

It is a powerful speech worth listening to still. If you visit the Little Pickle Press biography page, you will see that many of the team consider Martin Luther King, Jr. a hero. He continues to be a hero for this day and age, and many share his dream.

Let freedom ring.

Moving, poignant, brilliant, eye-opening. An important reminder of our country's history and of challenges we continue to struggle with today, all over the world, including here in the US. If you are seeking resources to teach children to celebrate diversity, reach for What Does It Mean To Be Global? and/or download the song (with the same name) on iTunes.

Thank you for that beautiful reminder of what it means to be courageous and persevering. Thank you for sharing what brings us all to a better place: tolerance and empathy, because "Now is" always "the time." Thank you for helping us continue to "Dream."

Unfortunately too many of our youth have forgot the struggle for equality. My hope is that we can remember our past that we might have a brighter future.

It is always interesting talking to children about equality because often times they do not understand why someone would treat another differently "because of his skin color" - seems absurd. "It's not about what a person looks like, it's about how they treat others that really matters in this world". Thank you to my 6 year old daughter for the wonderful insight...and reminder.
