I actually keep a gratitude journal, and I always have lots on my daily list. Even on bad days, I MAKE myself think of three things I'm grateful for and that usually gets me out of the doldrums. Happiness is just a mindset and gratitude definitely primes the pump.
I constantly give thanks for the health and happiness of my family and friends. Taking a moment each day to add to your gratitude inventory.... will turn into happy, peaceful day.
I am thankful for (and proud of) you, Mom! What a great inaugural blog post!
Being thankful is a wonderful! By acknowledging all that we have to be thankful for we can quickly brighten our day! Thanksgiving is a time to spend with family, it marks the beginning of our holiday season, but most of all it brings to our attention the little treasures we miss in out daily travels. We should thank those we love more often.
What a perfect book to review! There is nothing more important than teaching your children gratitude, except maybe safety. With it they will always have perspective and balance. This book is the perfect Thanksgiving book! It wraps all of these heady things in a wonderfully delightful package that allows children to smile while they are learning.
Thank you for introducing us to this book, Bernadine and LPP!
Each morning, I try to remember all that I am grateful for in my life. Always high on the list is my work in helping to provide children with books that help them learn and develop into giving and caring people.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because of the message and the focus of the celebration: family, giving thanks, a good meal, sharing time and thoughts together. I love that children´s books reinforce this message.
"Thanks for Thanksgiving" is a wonderful little book. I had totally forgotten about it until I read Bernardine Diorio's article about it in the Little Pickle Press blog. In fact I ran out to purchase it for my nephew's 3 children for the holidays. They (5 yrs, 2.5 years and 7 mos.) stayed with us for about 2 weeks and we really had to have many ideas for things to do. "Thanks for Thanksgiving" was a wonderful read and gave us lots of special things we could do at home. Thank you jogging my memory and providing an opportunity to share it with our family!
